The Floral Park School District is dedicated to providing all students with quality instruction and opportunities for academic and social/emotional achievement. The goal of special education in our School District is to provide each student with the individualized instruction and support needed to overcome their disabilities where possible and become life long learners.
Our Special Education team which consists of our; office staff, chairpeople, teachers and related service providers, are all here to work together with you to help your child. The Floral Park Bellerose School District provides a range of special education programs and related services. Parental Right to Obtain Testing
Any parent who suspects that his or her child (3 years to 12 years) may have a disability, which could be significantly affecting their ability to perform in school, has a right to a free evaluation through the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or Preschool Special Education (CPSE). All requests must be submitted in writing to the principal of your child's school or to the chairperson of the CSE and CPSE, Sharon Meyer. Parents of children from birth to 3 years old may obtain testing through the Nassau County Early Intervention Program, 227-8661.

CPSE/CSE Meetings
The SE office will schedule a parent to attend your child's meeting when requested. Please contact the Office of Special Education for more information regarding including parent members as part of a CPSE/CSE meeting.
